WHMS to Host 3rd Annual HealthaPalooza on July 25
ATKINSON, NE — West Holt Medical Services will host its 3rd annual HealthaPalooza event on Thursday, July 25 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Atkinson Community Center.
The HealthaPalooza is a free community appreciation event sponsored by Faith Regional Health Services. This year’s theme is Rock’n Together for Health and will include free food, live music by The OutBack Band, free swimming at the city pool, bounce houses, and booths.
More than 20 health and wellness booths will be in attendance, including: Asera Care Hospice, At Your Service In Home Care, Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center, Bright Horizons, Good Samaritan Society/Prairie Winds, Home Health Medical Equipment, League of Human Dignity, Mad Nutrition, Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Nebraska Extension – Holt County, O’Neill Care and Rehabilitation, Parkside Manor, Rebel Health Revolution, Sandhills Cancer Fund, Veteran’s Service Office – Holt County, Brown County Hospital – Home Health, Heartland Counseling Services, Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Sandhills Wellness LLC, Atkinson Family Dental Center, Family First Dental, Region 4 Behavioral Health, Area Agency on Aging, West Holt Lifesavers, West Holt Medical Services and more.
Nebraska State Patrol will demonstrate seat belt safety with their Seat Belt Convincer, which simulates a low-impact crash. Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) will perform LiveWire demonstrations to educate the public about electrical safety. Atkinson Fire and Rescue will offer kiddie train rides and tours of their ambulance. New this year, LifeNet Air Medical Helicopter Service will provide tours of their helicopter from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of their once-a-year health fair lab screenings during the HealthaPalooza event, West Holt Medical Services now offers discounted Wellness Labs every Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 406 West Neely Street in Atkinson.
