WHMS HealthaPalooza Event Draws Crowd
ATKINSON, NE — West Holt Medical Services (WHMS) hosted its 3rd annual HealthaPalooza community appreciation event on Thursday, July 25 at the Atkinson Community Center drawing more than 250 attendees.
The event was run by 50 plus WHMS employees and volunteers with 560 free hamburgers and hot dogs served. Inside the community center, more than 20 health and wellness booths were in attendance.
Outdoor activities included live music by The OutBack Band, free swimming at the city pool, bounce houses and kiddie train rides. Nebraska State Patrol demonstrated seat belt safety with their Convincer simulator and Atkinson Fire and Rescue provided tours of their ambulance.
A highlight of the event included tours of the LifeNet helicopter and Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) live wire demonstrations.

KBRX promoted the event through a live radio feed, interviewing participants and announcing the event’s activities.
