Tracy Ludwig of WHMS Receives Patriot Award
ATKINSON, NE — Tracy Ludwig, RN, Director of Primary and Specialty Care at West Holt Medical Services received the Patriot Award. Ludwig, in representation of the facility, was nominated by Jon Gotschall, PA-C, a Captain in the US Army Specialty Corps, who serves as the Battalion PA for the 128th Engineer Battalion out of Columbus, NE. This award recognizes individuals nominated by a Guardsman or Reservist employee for the support they provide.
The Patriot Award is the first award in a series of ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) awards. The award is awarded to individual supervisors. An organization must have a supervisor or employee who has received this award prior to being eligible to any sequential awards.
Ludwig was nominated for this award by Gotschall for her support while being employed at West Holt Medical Services. Ludwig has worked with Gotschall on rescheduling clinic, hospital, and ER coverage over the past couple of years while Gotschall was on assignment in Korea, at annual training, and most recently his deployment to the Southwest Border.
Ludwig is a seasoned registered nurse with more than fifteen years of experience in the medical field. She has worked at West Holt Medical Services since 2002 starting as a floor nurse and has served in various positions including: Infection Control Coordinator, Risk Manager, Safety and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, and Outreach Specialty Care Clinic RN Coordinator.
In her current role, Ludwig is responsible for managing and leading growth initiatives for both the Primary and Specialty Clinics at West Holt Medical Services.
“Tracy is one of the many employees who has stepped up and helped out while I have been away on military obligations,” said Gotschall. “I would like to personally thank Tracy along with all the providers, nurses, and staff both in the clinic and hospital of West Holt Medical Services who have done so much to help cover while I have been gone and for their amazing support and prayers. They have truly shown their dedication and support to the military.”
Gotschall is an experienced rural medicine physician assistant providing complete family healthcare for newborn through adult, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
