Health Fair Labs Offered Sept. 10-14
West Holt Medical Services will host their annual health fair lab draws to provide blood panel screenings to the community at significantly reduced prices. These screenings provide baseline information on cholesterol, blood glucose, thyroid, liver and kidney and more. Lab draws will be performed on a first-come, first-served basis September 10 through 14 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at 406 West Neely Street in Atkinson.
For $45 patients will receive lab work including complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic profile (CMP), lipid panel and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). These tests are valued at $450 and are recommended as part of a routine medical exam to evaluate overall health and monitor a wide range of disorders, including anemia, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, liver and kidney disease and to rule out infections. Patients should fast 12 hours prior to this test to receive the most accurate results.
A prostatic specific antigen (PSA) test is available for only $25 to help measure men’s prostate gland function. This test is valued at $100 and is recommended especially if men have a family history of prostate problems. This is a screening test that may help rule out prostate cancer or other prostate conditions.
A Hemoglobin A1C blood test is available for $15, valued at $75. This test provides an average glucose level over three months to help individuals monitor their diabetes condition.
Speak with your primary care provider to determine if these tests are recommended for you. Physician’s orders are not required and no insurance claims will be filed. Only cash or check will be accepted as forms of payment. All test results will be mailed directly to the patient and they are encouraged to share the results with their primary care provider.
