Education & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited medical assistant program preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in State of Nebraska or equivalent required
- Current Certified Medication Aide (MA) in State of Nebraska or equivalent preferred
- Certifications maintained as required
Duties:
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. Completes requisitions, prescription refills and orders from providers.
- Gives injections or treatments and performs clinic laboratory tests.
- May schedule appointments, performs ward clerk tasks, and completes insurance forms. May key data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
- Assist with patient / family teaching.
- Promotes a harmonious work environment, recognizes responsibilities and performs them willingly with positive impact on patient and co-worker.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May serve on committees, attend meetings, etc.
